And some really great human beings, you choice who is who.

In Bulo Burto, Somalia if you do not pray five times a day you will be beheaded. Interesting motivation factor. Might work better than your soul will go to hell if you do not pray or that you will not find happiness if you don't pray or you will get all the riches you deserve if you do pray. This is much more direct, you don't pray five times every day, you lose your head.

Than again in Toronto Canada they seemed to have found another way of helping humans. It would seem that two doctors were looking at a new way to deal with diabetes and they realized that diabetes had a lot in common with MS. I will not pretend to understand this. But most doctors and scientist are looking at the immune system and the pancreas for answers. These two gentlemen decided that maybe they should look at the nerve tissues. The short of it is that they looked at the nerve tissue and realized that the nerves around the pancreas of diabetic mice was different than healthy ones. So they did some doctor magic and behold the diabetes disappeared. They have not started to test this on humans but that will start soon.

So I ask you, who would you want in your neighborhood?? The guys who are helping human beings by beheading them of not praying five times a day or the guys who are working towards defeating a crippling disease that causes children and adults to suffer in pain until dead.

Take your time, votes are being counted.
Same as everyone else. Why people believe this nonsense baffles me.

If I understand the concept, people believe that Aliens come to this planet after flying Trillions of miles and draw on the Earth's surface, in farm fields, different shapes for their amusement. If the Aliens really like art than they should visit a museum with a Monet or look at the pictures in Playboy (a woman's naked or partially clothed body is art). What the hell would they need to do this for??

Let us look at the big picture. We are 4.2174 light years from Proxima Centauri and 4.3548 lights years from Alpha Centauri. This equates to about 39,900,000,000,000 km (24,792,710,000,000 miles) and 41,200,000,000,000 km (25,600,493,000,000 miles) from Earth. We do not even know if there are any planets with life around these stars. The nearest planet outside our solar system with life maybe a million times further away. Traveling at the speed of light it could take thousands of years to get to this solar system. This is not Star Trek. Matter can not travel at the speed of light.

Away from the science for a moment. Why would any intelligent being come to this hell hole? Let us be honest, this is a hell hole. We treat each other and the other creatures horribly. We murder each other because we disagree with the way we think. We elect thieves, liars and cheats to represent us. The list is quite exhausting at the down falls of the creatures at the top of the food chain.

I think that the Nazca Lines of Pampa Colorada, Peru are inspiring. But I would tend to believe that these were made as symbols to some god and not by a visitor from space.

All in all, if we have been or will be visited by aliens from other planets we should be a little kinder to each other. You never know, the clown you just cut may have a ray gun.

Today’s two cents.
Same as everyone else. That being stated, we, the USA, have reduced the number of nuclear weapons in this country through treaties and because of the common sense notion that it cost a hell of a lot of money to keep something on alert with this much overkill. But I do not believe we are in the position to completely dismantle all that we have and change our swords into plowshares just yet. Nuclear weapons are a deterrent to any foolish megalomaniac that thinks about attacking us with any type of weapon of mass destruction. I do not know if the deterrent works or not. I know we have not been attacked since nuclear weapons have been developed.
Over the years I have always been bewildered by those who protest against the US for one reason or another while not saying a word about the governments out in the world that make it their policy to cause hate, discontent and spread violence and death like we spread aid after a earthquake. Here we have a few clowns, and I mean clowns, who find it an important statement to pound on the lid of a 110 ton door of a US Minuteman missile silo. First you could smash a plane into this and I doubt you would scratch the paint. But I do not see these same good hearted folks standing outside the North Korean, Iranian or any other murderous regime's official building in UN land (NY city) protesting those countries move to nuclear weapons or treatment of their own citizens.
I would like to see nuclear weapons made useless, but I know the human race is not capable of becoming one big love in. There are those who hate us because we are not like them, no other reason. And the only deterrent we have against these crazy people is the knowledge that if they try to wipe out our cities and kill thousands of us we will hit them so hard that it will be 5000 years before than can even drink the water again.
Same as everyone else. My daughter has a couple of friends in the neighborhood so she usually has a good time, but there are no boys my son’s age, at least we have not found any.

My daughter went down the street and around the block by herself for the first time. Yes I am paranoid. But of course there was no problems. She visited a couple of younger girls, she like to think she is a mature older girl. She had a good time and I am always happy when she is with friends.

My son and I played video games, watched game show network (he is addicted) and we played rough house. He loves to watch me play video games. We play Spyro, Robots and a new one, Over the Hedge. Not sure about Over the Hedge yet. We watched Match Game, remember that, Lingo and a few others. These shows are a lot better than cartoons so I have no complaints. While we were rough housing he almost killed me, ok maybe he only came close to breaking a couple of bones. He is a little guy but he can actually do a flying drop kick, and he does it often. Usually I catch his feet but today he tagged me twice, once in the ribs and once in the arm.

The really great thing is that my wife, not the mother, is so wonderful she never says a word about the rough housing. She really enjoys the time I have with the children. I adore her.

I wrote some feelings about the legal system, I think I will leave it out. This was a good day and I want to end it on a good note and with good memories.

Thanks LL for the post.
Same as everyone else. I tend to fall on the side of non-alarmist. The talk about 1 degree increase over a decade may sound dangerous, but what is the change over 1000 years? I do not have the answers but I am always weary of people pushing for us to completely stop civilization advancement because of what might be happening. Of course there are some people who think they know what is best for us and do not have any difficulty telling us, such as Al Gore. But as the article states at least he is giving climate scientists a good laugh.

These people need to stop trying to alter the way we live until they can prove their point. Not by fear, but by true science. I am all for the stopping the use of CF (old air conditioning chemical) because chemical scientist have studied the effects this chemical has on the chemicals in the atmosphere and understand the consequences. But that is not true for all that is being said. Before we make up our mind about what we are going to do about global warming we should know if it is true or not.
Same as everyone else. There has never been an age of enlightenment in the Muslim world. But today, because of some people craving new ideas and the power of the internet (when not censored) the Arab world is starting to get a small taste of different ideas.

The Arab world is basically an Authoritarian society. Even in a country like Egypt, which elects a president, there is little chance of political diversity.

The article states that only about 10,000 books have been translated from the West into Arabic. This is a United Nations statistic so I am dubious to it estimation. But even if the number is 100,000 books that is such a small number. These numbers are total books translated over 1,000 years.

I think there are cracks in the shell of Arab society, where liberal Western ideas such as individual liberty, personal freedom, political dissent and the rights of minorities may be seeing the light of day. Not in the hallow halls of Arabic governments but in the minds of some of the young. The only way this is going to become effective is if we, the West, push back against these societies when they trample our citizens rights. We also need to export these beliefs and ideas every chance we get.

As it stands most of the Muslim world is dependent on the words of government officials, Clerics and Imams. Anyone speaking out and opposing these people is apt to be murdered or imprisoned. Like we did to the old Soviet Union we need to do these countries. Show them the good that can come from being free. I do not have high hopes that liberal Western ideas can get a toe hold. The authoritarian political beliefs within the religion are very strong. But maybe there is hope.
Same as everyone else. But I noticed some problems in that their actions do not correlate with their statements.
When people are getting beheaded; we hear of no protests from the Muslims countries or people.
When cartoons show their icon in a bad light; we hear of plenty of protests from the Muslims countries or people, even death threats.
When planes are crashed into buildings; we hear of no protests from the Muslims countries or people.
When a country puts up a road block after her civilians are murdered by a bomb; we hear of plenty of protests from the Muslims countries or people, even death threats.
When a bomb goes off and kills children; we hear of no protests from the Muslims countries or people.
When they elect a terrorist organization to run your government and the rest of the world balks; we hear of plenty of protests from the Muslims countries or people.

It seems, to some of us, that Muslim protest only when they are directly effected. But when their own people commit crimes against non-Muslims not a word. It is one thing to write that you are against terrorism, but there does not seem to be any action to back up the statement.

When Israel or the US does something wrong there are lots of Israelis and Americans that will protest or write or complain. But I do not remember hearing the same thing from the Muslim countries. What we hear is complaints about racism or bigotry. We see propaganda from the governments to try and steer us in other directions. If Israelis started to commit crimes like car bombings, human children bombs, teaching hatred…, even if not government sanctioned I would protest, loud and clear. I would not make excuses. I would protest, I have protested.

It seems that the Palestinians are allowed to commit atrocities because they are oppressed. They are not murdered, they are not deprived of food, of work, of hospital care, of education of nothing. To want a separate country is great, but that is no reason to murder. No attempt was made to negotiate. No attempt was made to come to an understanding. Israelis were murdered from the beginning. Even the charters of the different terrorist groups proclaim the death of all Jews and Israelis. Yet no protest from the Muslim countries or people about this either.

When do humanist begin to protest the murder of Israelis as much as the protest the plight of the Palestinians?
Same as everyone else. There are a few things that bother me about this story. The first is that these guys seem to be casing the bus and the bus route and the school. These guys need to be investigated. That is obvious.

What really pisses me off is the statement by Ahmed Bedier, director of the Central Florida Council on American-Islamic Relations, told the St. Petersburg Times "the incident sounded like a cultural mixup." That is bullshit. This was no cultural mixup. What, in Saudi Arabia guys in their twenties take a school bus to a high school for no reason? Maybe they like to hang out with teenage girls? This is what really pisses me off about the Muslims "leadership" in this country. This jackass had a couple of choices when asked about the incident. He could have stated that he did not know what the hell happened and wait for the investigation. He could have said no comment. But instead he says that it is cultural.

Let us be honest for a second here. If an American was to enter Saudi Arabia they better not try crap like this. I have no idea what the punishment would be, but I am sure it would not be pleasant.
Same as everyone else. Some would say not at all. But let us say, for the sake of argument, that we send money to allies and supporters. Why would we send money to people who hate us and have repeatedly called for our destruction??

This is confusing. This article states that Saudi Arabia, you know the country that exports the most oil in the world, wants the US, that is us, and the EU to continue to send money to the Palestinian "Government" under Hamas.

The question that comes to my mind is, why do not all of the oil rich countries send money to the Palestinian "Government" under Hamas? Why do these advanced, peaceful, tolerant, oil pumping countries need the West's help(anyone notice the sarcasms)? The Palestinian terrorist groups applauded the 9/11 terrorist acts, helped kill American soldiers and civilians and have been obstructionist to peace for years. Yet they are willing to ask and take our money.

If we are going to fool enough to send our money over seas, than we should be smart enough to put demands on those who take it. And we should be smart enough to send it to only allies and supporters. Again I am not arguing for or against foreign aid, just how it is administered.
Same as everyone else. Mostly history, particularly biographies, these give great insight into historic periods and allow the reader to understand human nature that much more.

Recently I have read two books and I am in the middle of one book that I think are fantastic. Two of the books are science books. But they are not school books they are fun reading for those who are interested in scientific work and history.

The first is a book about “Five Equations That Changed the World : The Power and Poetry of Mathematics,” written by Michael Guillen. This book takes the reader into the basic understanding of science in the time of the scientist being discussed. The book talks about Isaac Newton and the Universal Law of Gravity, Daniel Bernoulli and the Law of Hydrodynamic Pressure, Michael Faraday and the Law of Electromagnetic Induction, Rudolf Clausius and the Second Law of Thermodynamics and Albert Einstein and the Theory of Special Relativity. We learn how and why these people became scientist. How they came to discover the laws that they did and how these laws affected the scientific world. I am actually on my second reading of this book because it is so well written. Yes I am a nerd, just ask my wife.

The second science book is by Bill Bryson. It is called ”A Short History of Nearly Everything.” This book traces the many different scientific thoughts and discoveries throughout history. It starts with Greek scientific thought and works its way through modern times. It is fun to read and it is written for the non-scientific person. After you read this you will walk away with a much better understanding of the physical world around you. I can not recommend this book enough.

The last book is a non-fictional journey into Iran in the 1990s. It is written by Azar Nafisi. ”Reading Lolita in Tehran: A Memoir in Books.” This is a powerful book written from the point of view of the writer. She was a Professor of Western Literature at the University of Tehran, I too was amazed that they actually have a course in Western Literature in Iran. The book is about her and seven of her students and their lives in post-Revolutionary Iran. It is an amazing insight into an Islamic Republic. For all those who think they understand the theory and practice of such a place this is a must reading. The subtleties of the oppression and violence of their homeland is much more perverse than I imagined. The yearning to be individual woman with simple choices that are taken for granted in the West is heart wrenching. I went to Snopes and found that it was written by Peter Ferrara, an associate professor of law at the George Mason University School of Law in Northern Virginia. Mr. Ferrara's commentary was originally published in the National Review on 25 September 2001.

It is an excellent piece.

An American

You probably missed it in the rush of news last week, but there was actually a report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American. So I just thought I would write to let them know what an American is, so they would know when they found one.

An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani, or Afghan. An American may also be a Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, or one of the many other tribes known as native Americans.

An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan. The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them choose.

An American is also free to believe in no religion. For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God.

An American is from the most prosperous land in the history of the world. The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence, which recognizes the God given right of each man and woman to the pursuit of happiness.

An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need. When Afghanistan was overrun by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country. As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan. The best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best athletes.

Americans welcome the best, but they also welcome the least. The national symbol of America welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed.

These in fact are the people who built America. Some of them were working in the Twin Towers in the morning of September 11, earning a better life for their families.

So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo, and Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung, and every bloodthirsty tyrant in the history of the world. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself. Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American.

So look around you. You may find more Americans in your land than you thought were there. One day they will rise up and overthrow the old, ignorant, tired tyrants that trouble too many lands. Then those lands, too, will join the community of free and prosperous nations.

And America will welcome them.
Same as everyone else. Just my nonsense.

Really good eye hand coordination

This is Chris Bliss, I have no idea who he is. I looked at the link and damn if it doesn't state that CITGO is comletely owned by the socialist state of Venezuelia. I have to figure out who to by gas from now.

Venezuelan Dictator Vows To Bring Down U.S. Government

Venezuelan government is sole owner of Citgo Oil company

Venezuela Dictator Hugo Chavez has vowed to bring down the U.S. government. Chavez, president of Venezuela, told a TV audience: "Enough of imperialist aggression; we must tell the world: down with the U.S. empire. We have to bury imperialism this century."

The guest on his television program, beamed across Venezuela, was Cindy Sheehan, the antiwar activist. Also, Chavez recently had as his guest Harry Belafonte, who called President Bush "the greatest terrorist in the world." (HT comments - Good to see Americans helping out ruthless dictators. What the fuck is wrong with these people who sit and smile with murderers and than tell us we are wrong. Sort of destroys their whole argument.)

Chavez is pushing a socialist (Marxist) revolution and has a close alliance with Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.

Regardless of your feelings about the war in Iraq, the issue here is that we have a socialist dictator vowing to bring down the government of the U.S., and he is using our money to achieve his goal!

The Venezuelan government, run by dictator Chavez, is the sole owner of Citgo gas company. Sales of products at Citgo stations send money back to Chavez to help him in his vow to bring down our government.

Take Action.

Please decide that you will NOT be shopping at a Citgo station. Why should U.S. citizens who love freedom be financing a dictator who has vowed to take down our government?

Very important. Please forward this to your friends and family. Most of them don't know that Citgo is owned by the Venezuelan government.

Breaking News: Chavez announced this past week (Feb.22nd.) that, effective March 1st 2006, Continental and Delta Airlines could not fly into Venezuela, and that American Airlines flights would be restricted.
Same as everyone else. Basically the bill is trying to prohibit the ownership of guns. Legal gun ownership and a connection to crime is one of the biggest misnomers we have in this country. Where there is more restriction on gun ownership there is more crime. The fact is that while we, the law abiding citizenship will follow laws (no matter how stupid), the criminals never follow laws. So taking away guns from us does nothing but make us better targets. Is we look at DC, LA and NY city we can see that as the gun restrictions increased the rate of violent crime also went up. In Australia and England the same is true. We do not hear about it in the news but after these countries passed laws that removed the right of individuals to own guns the violent crime rate rocketed. I have heard of an increase of over 100% in violent crimes.

Owning a gun does not make a person a nut or dangerous. The revolutionary war was started because the British were going to Concord to confiscate the local armory. The Nazis and the Communists both confiscated guns as soon as they got into power. When governments want to control something like individual defense we should be worried. In this country it has been determined, through numerous court cases that the police do not have an obligation to protect or save anyone. That they do is great but we are told we are on our own. Then the elected government turns around and takes the best defense away. The reason given is because so much crime is done with guns. But the vast majority of law abiding citizens do not use their guns in crimes. Criminals already flaunt the laws and use guns. If the legislature really wanted to do something about crime they could come down hard on those who use guns. I do not mean add 5 years to the sentence because the criminal used a gun. If you have a gun while committing a crime but do not use it or show it, that is an added 10 years. If you show the gun while committing a crime, add 15 years. If you fire a gun while committing a crime add 25 years. If you injury someone with a gun while committing a crime add 30 years. If you kill someone with a gun while committing a crime, you do not get out of jail until dead.

We hear from the anti-gun people and celebrities that we should not have guns. But these same celebrities hire body guards who carry guns. I remember one time Rosie O’Donnell state that she is against guns and gun owners. Someone brought up the fact that she hired body guards to protect her and her little girl and wasn’t she being hypocritical. She basically stated that this was a private issue and she had to protect her child. No kidding it is a private issue and you have to protect your child. It is also a private issue that each one of us also demands and we also demand that we have a right to have a weapon to do that defending.

For the record the 2nd amendment in the bill of rights, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” was written to mean you and I, this is not a state right, this is an individual right. The first eight amendments are all directly related to restricting the Federal Governments power over the people. These have been abused; the eminent domain ruling is an example of abuse. But we the people are the last arbitrators of the law. We elect people whose job is to follow the Constitution and do what we want. We need to stand up and demand that our elected officials behave and vote in an ethical, Constitutional way.

When we give up all of our rights for security, we will end up with neither. Paraphrased from Ben Franklin.
Same as everyone else. You are one of the most trustworthy, practical, and down-to-earth of individuals; the cornerstone members of society. Indeed, as a Life Path 4, you are a builder of society. The cream of the crop in this Life Path can be a master builder in society. if you are among these highly talented people, you have an idealistic nature which is grounded in practical terms, allowing you to conceive grandiose, far-reaching schemes and carry them through to the end. If you desire and are willing to work for it, you can achieve enormous success, prestige, and fame. Obviously, everyone with a 4 Life Path does not become famous.

All with this Life Path have the ability to take orders and to carry them out with dedication and perseverance and many 4s live and work happily in this context. But so often, the 4 Life Path is the entrepreneur and manager in the community. In either role, you always demand as much from yourself as you do from others, and sometimes a lot more.

You have the kind of will power that is often mistaken for sheer stubbornness. You don't think of yourself as dogged, but your honest beliefs and that ever direct speech makes you come across as completely unremitting. Once a decision is made, it will be followed through to the conclusion, right, wrong, or indifferent. You are very set in your ways and determined to handle things the way you are so certain that they should be handled. Your tenacity of purpose and ability to get the job done borders on obsession. You are a wonderful manager with a great sense of how to get the job done.

You are an excellent organizer and planner because of your innate ability to view things in a very common sense and practical way. This stems from a strong desire to be a perfectionist in your labor. Planning is necessary to avoid errors. It's very likely that a 4 Life Path person invented the to-do list, because it is the rare Life Path 4 who doesn't have one by her side at all times. Your life is programed in an orderly fashion permitting you to catalog and manage the flow of ideas and activities that fill your day. Indeed, you seem to function best when you are under the gun and facing a tough set of problems.

Loyal and devoted, you make the best of your marriage, and you are always the good provider. Friends may be few in number, but you are very close to them and once friendships are made, they often last a lifetime.

The number 4 is solidly associated with the element of earth from which it gains its strength and utter sense of reality. You are one of the most dependable people you know. If patience and determination can ever win, you are sure to achieve great success in life. Often, you are called on to take care of others; to finish what they have started. It may not seem fair and probably isn't, but it may be the key to your accomplishment and reputation.

The negative side of the 4 can prove dogmatic to an excess, narrow-minded, and repressive. A lot of skin-deep people turn you off, and you lack the tact to keep your feelings from being totally clear to all around. Additionally, the negative 4 has a bad tendency to get caught up in the daily routine of affairs, missing the big picture and major opportunities that come along once in a while.

To find out what your world is like try this.
Same as everyone else. Our federal and state income taxes are due. But this is a misnomer.

We pay taxes each week into the slosh fund of the federal government in these United States. If you do not have enough money taken out for the government slosh fund you get penalized. Even if you pay all your taxes on April 15th, I think loan sharks use this method as well.

We pay taxes on income if we work for corporations. Of course that money that we are getting paid has already been taxed at the corporate level so we pay twice.

We pay taxes on state income tax refunds, another double tax since we were taxed for that the year before.

In the late 18th century, when the western world was fighting monarchs the citizens of the 13 colonies paid on average about 6% tax. Today we pay 20% direct income tax.

The size of the dependency deduction originally was about $500 in the ‘50s. Today if that figure had kept up with inflation it should be about $10,000. It is not.

The IRS can go through your personal records without a warrant. So much for the 5th amendment.

IRS agents carry guns!! This should really scare you. Why is this bad? Because the US government has a “police force.” No not the FBI, we can talk about that some other time. They are called the US Federal Marshall office. Need to arrest someone, call them.

Deductions for health have to be over 7% of your income and business related expenses have to be over 2% of your income. Why is there a threshold for medical expenses?

There are two distinct problems with taxes in this country. One is that the federal government is WAY, WAY too big. It has its nose in every nock and cranny.
Why is there a federally run Export/Import bank.
Why is there a federally run Department of Education
Why is there a federal Department of Indian Affairs?
We can go through the list of government offices and departments that were never intended to be. Our Constitution is very clear in that it was made to narrow the scope of the federal government. That is why we have state governments.

Want to know how much the people we elect care about us, each Congressman and woman gets paid about $135,000 per year. They have money for staff and expenses that exceeds a million a year. I have read that in 1991 Congressional expense spending (money used for and by members of Congress and their staff) was $650,000,000.00. That should piss everyone off, I am pissed.

The other issue is why is income taxed at all? You really need to tax something, tax expenses. I know some people are against this but the real plus to this is that if you need to control your expenses you spend less thereby saving on taxes. The rich spend money and would continue to pay taxes. We would not need a huge invasive federal bureaucracy that each and ever one of us are scared of. Admit it; you are scared of the IRS. You, as an honest citizen should never be scared of your government. When you are there is a serious issue that needs to be corrected.
Same as everyone else. Just my nonsense.

Leave her son alone

It seems that Cindy Sheehan is in the news again. We all know that she is the woman who hates George Bush and has protested the war. Now I disagree with her on the war. I think that the Iraqi government was neck deep in terrorism and helped the murderers on 9/11.

But now there are people who are protesting her decision not to put a tombstone on her son’s grave. People should just leave her alone and mind their own business. I can not imagine what it is like to lose a son in a war. There is nothing wrong with her protesting the war, which is her right as an American. We can discuss and disagree with her, even call into question her patriotism. But I am of the belief that she has a right to honor her son anyway she feels. We, the people who believe the war is just, need to keep the discourse non-personal with other Americans. When we make the arguments personal we distract our reasoning and thoughts from the true discussion

Now I have no opinion on her desire to put a tombstone on her son’s grave or not. I even understand her hatred of the war. But the conservative media needs to stay focused on the real issue, the war on terrorism. Also, the focus should stay on who these terrorist are what they stand for and what they want to do to us needs to replayed and discussed.
Same as everyone else. It is a seniors home, not assistant, just adult apartments. She was supposed to move in Dec, but this did not happen. Been waiting for the CO (certificate of occupancy, something the city gives out after inspecting the place to make sure it is livable) for 4 months. So today was move in day. I am amazed that they got a CO, some much crap everywhere. I started at about 9am putting stuff into the truck. Had the teenage step-son give me a hand and we got the bed in and some boxes, but he had to eat. Oh I forgot, it rained all day, nasty cold rain. Than some friends showed up and we finished up in about an hour and 45 minutes. She moved in ok, but we were wet and cold.

My step-daughter is having a party with some friend, so much fun. I am staying in my room until tomorrow. They are very strange creatures.

Came home after the move and wanted a nice warm shower. The hot water heater has not worked all day. Played with it for about an hour and it started to work. Waited another hour and finally took a shower.

Than I went to feed my turtles. We bought two turtles about 6 months ago. One grew and the other one didn't. The little one died today.

On top of that my step-daughter bought home a baby squirrel. The mother died so she brought the baby home. Of course Mrs. Hatetaxes is loving the little thing. I suggested giving it to the neighbor hood hawk but I was voted down.

One of our dogs must have been upset at me mom leaving, so he pooped on the carpet. That was ok because one of the girls here for my step-daughters party was playing around in rolled in it.

Oh one more thing. I called my children and the ex answered, she does that about once every six months. Not only that, she had my son call me back to say good night, that is the first time in about 2 years.

The planets are aligned very strangely tonight.

Now I am going to do some school work while drinking some Jamaican Rum Cream. Should get an A out of this class.
Same as everyone else. Yacoub found on Yahoo, is a prime example of the crap that we have to deal with. The article states "...with gunmen attacking a minibus carrying Shiites northeast of Baghdad late Friday, killing six men and wounding one woman." It is bad enough that the world press refuses to call terrorists, terrorists, but giving these murderers a quaint identification like "gunman" instead of murderer is disgusting.

On the AP webpage about their Values and Principles they state that "That means we abhor inaccuracies, carelessness, bias or distortions." But in reality they do not abhor any of these, they only abhor stating the truth about these people when it goes against their opinion. When they sanitize the words they use to describe these acts of violence as gunman, insurgents or guerrillas it lends legitimacy to these vial acts. It is the same with the term Suicide Bomber, these are Murder Bombers. If all they wanted to do is kill themselves they could go out into a field and blow themselves up, but they seek out the most innocent victims to do their worst.

I tried to find out about Yacoub but all I get is articles. I wanted to know some information on his background. Is the bias his alone or is it embedded with the whole AP organization. From past experience with AP I would say it is embedded.

I tried to find a "Letter to the Editor" section on the AP home page but without luck. This behavior of sanitizing the news has and will continue to have a horrible affect on our population. Most of population in this country, make political and security decisions based on the news developed by companies like AP. So when they distort the news like this, people are shaping their views under false pretense.
Same as everyone else. But today I am in a good mood. I do have some issues cooking on the stove. But I was thinking about my life and I must say that for the first time everything is roses.

Mostly this is due to my new wife. We have been married for 6+ months and she is the most wonderful human being I have every met. On her worst days she is pleasant to be around. I have no idea why she loves me, but I adore her.

So if the ex is playing games and trying to make me miserable, it is not going to work. Job is stressful, no problem. As long as I can go home and be with her that is all that matters.

I will find something to bitch about soon, maybe something about going to school in your 40's to get a degree when I should have done that when I was in my 20's.
Same as everyone else. No other nation does this with the consistency that we do. Our service people are the true Freedom Fighters in this world. It seems that his case was temporarily dropped. It is still up for review but the reason it was dropped was because of lack of evidence.

To start with I am neither Muslim nor Christian, so I have no stake in the religious portion of the discussion. I just want to make sure I understand this, some guy who is a just trying to understand the world as he see fit decides that religion A is not his cup of tea. He see religion B and goes that is for me, I like blah, blah, blah about it. The country he lives in is made up mostly of and controlled by people of religion A. So they decide that since he does not want to practice religion A but does want to practice religion B that he deserves to be put to death. Why oh why would anyone in the whole damn world give a rats ass if this guy believed in religion A, religion B, the Flying Spaghetti Monster or atheism??

In America, other than Texas, it is nearly impossible to carry out a death sentence. We do not put to death people who should be put to death (I am not a fan of the death penalty, but sometimes it seams like a good idea), like people who murder children, murder for money, imprison and torture people... But in Afghanistan, and other Muslim countries, they put to death people whose inner thoughts do not agree with... who?

I am not sure if the people who think that it is perfectly ok to kill some one for their thoughts, strap explosives around a child's body, teach a child arithmetic by counting the dead bodies of your enemy or any number of other bizarre and dangerous notions can ever become civilized. But I do know one thing. I never, never want these people's way of life to ever, ever influence what we do in this country. What ever it takes to keep these crazy concepts away from our children needs to be done. Now I am a Constitutionalist so I do not want the government to crack down. No, I want every damn American to crack down. If some jackass announces that sentencing someone to death because he changes his religion is not a bad thing, we, all of us, need to stand and shout "you are an idiot jack ass, shut the hellup, get the hell out." This way the First Amendment is not jeopardized and we get to call him on his murderous concepts. Of course if he tries to enact his beliefs we arrest his dumb ass and throw him in the clink. I recommend solitary confinement.
Same as everyone else. Just my nonsense.

Reagonisms

Ronald Reagan was a good president. He had a positive attitude about the country and the people and he fought his own party to cut the size and number of regulations that are thrown at us. He even tried, though failed, to get rid of the US Dept of Education, this huge behemoth that drains money from the average citizen just to give it back, after deducting billions for waste and incompetence, to the states. As if the states do not know how to steal, I mean tax, their own citizens. Yes he messed up really big but he took responsibility for it. Plus he nominated my favorite, almost a Supreme Court Justice, Judge Bork.

Anyway, here are some quotes attributed to the late President.

"Here's my strategy on the Cold War: We win, they lose."

"The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

"The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant: It's just that they know so much that isn't so."

"Of the four wars in my lifetime none came about because the U.S. was too strong."

"I have wondered at times about what the Ten Commandment's would have looked like if Moses had run them through the U.S. Congress."

"The taxpayer: That's someone who works for the federal government but doesn't have to take the civil service examination."

"Government is like a baby: An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other."

"If we ever forget that we're one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under."

"The nearest thing to eternal life we will ever see on this earth is a government program."

"I've laid down the law, though, to everyone from now on about anything that happens: no matter what time it is, wake me, even if it's in the middle of a Cabinet meeting."

"It has been said that politics is the second oldest profession. I have learned that it bears a striking resemblance to the first."

"Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it."

"Politics is not a bad profession. If you succeed there are many rewards, if you disgrace yourself you can always write a book."

"No arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women.

- All by Ronald Reagan
Same as everyone else. Some should think a long, long time. This idiot JUAN SANTOS, I like that word, states that a law in the Senate to make being an illegal immigrant a felony is like the Nazis putting Stars on Jews. I understand that this socialist pig liberal dumb son of bitch has a personal stake in the game. But so does every single legal immigrant.

Illegal aliens are stealing money from us. How? By taking tax dollars that are meant for citizens in the form of hospital costs, school education and welfare and on top of that they pay no taxes what so ever so we get to cover all the costs. Yes they can get these things and not get kicked out of the country. There are other financial burdens they put on us, increase police and border control, violent crime and insurance fraud.

Entering a country illegally is a serious crime everywhere in the world. Try going to North or South Korea without permission. Try going to any Arab country without being invited. Most intelligent people in all the other countries know that illegal immigration is a drain on the country and is not allowed. Only in this country is there a debate.

But than our President wants to give the millions of illegal immigrants that are now in this country an Amnesty. In other words, for all those stupid legal immigrants who went through the entire maze of regulations and tests, boy are you a bunch of dumb asses.

It is time, way past the time, to make illegal immigration a serious crime. While we are at it how about making it a felony to; hire an illegal, not report an illegal, harbor an illegal, help an illegal come into the country, give them any medical service and not report them and so on and so on. This country is at war with a vicious enemy that will use any method, proven by past and present deeds, to harm us. Yet we continue to allow the borders to be wide open and we do not punish the people who flaunt our laws and borders.

Now; comparing people who are not being murdered by the millions with a group of people who where murdered by the millions, including 4 million children, is pathetic and sick. If this guy is too self absorbed to see the difference than maybe he should write cook books instead of attempting to be a political commentator.

The stupidity of the sheeple continues.
Same as everyone else. They (politicians) borrow money and spend more.

As an example, we have the Department of Transportation (DOT) that runs a bunch of non-transportation money making (losing) entities, such as the Meadowlands Arena, the Garden State Art Center and other pseudo-government corporations. The DOT borrowed $6 BILLION a few years back to refinance some money and get more money because the interest rates were so low. The money was borrowed without having the consent of the people by ballot, which is in the NJ Constitution. The NJ Supreme Court stated, that yes it was illegal but you can do it this one time. What the HELL does that mean?????????

The numbers below show the case. The $4.039 Billion is increase in spending. The $1.429 Billion is decrease in spending, the $2.609 Billion is the net increase in spending. We have a $4 BILLION deficit and we are increasing spending? They are raising the sales tax, what the sales tax will tax, income tax and every fee and hidden tax.

GRAND TOTAL $ 4,029.009 $(1,419.807) $ 2,609.202 (in $ Millions)
NJ 2006 Budget Do not read this link, it is boring lies and crap, just wanted everyone to know that I did not make these numbers up myself.

Oh here is an idea, SPEND LESS MONEY. Fire the damn cronies you hire that are less productive than my Labs.

What really burns my toast is that the citizens of this state keep voting for the same jack asses over and over again. Why don't these dumb ass voters realize that the people they voted for and campaigned for are laughing at them. Don't they see or care about every time one of their boys (or girls) votes themselves another raise, or gives their family member a job making $120,000/yr and not even showing up, or hold 3 or 4 government jobs, or sells their vote to the highest bidder. I blame the voters and not the politicians. I expect politicians to be what they are. In the movie "The Hunt for Red October" there is a guy who is part of the administration and he wants the main character to risk his life. He states, "I am a politician, which makes me a thief and a liar, if I am not kissing babies I am stealing their lollipops." That is a politician.

I will continue to scream and argue that the two parties are actual one disguised to fool the masses. Every once in a while a true person becomes a politician but that person has to fight their own party more than the opposing party, an example is Ron Paul from Texas. The Republicans spend more money in the primary trying to defeat him than the Democrats do in the election, go figure!

The only conclusion I can come up with is that the average person is an idiot or a masochist who would just as much enjoy a hot poker in the eye.
Same as everyone else. We have two nice and wonderful children that she uses as weapons. But here is an example of some psycho games I go through. I have the children on Thanksgiving, no other real holiday. I had to fight to get the children at 10am on Thanksgiving. For years it was 3pm on Thanksgiving day. She gets them on Easter, so I have to return them to her on Sunday (she never delivers nor picks up the children, that is another story). She states that she wants them at 7am to go to the 8am Mass, meaning I will have to wake them at 615am and get them in the car and going by 635am.
"Is that the only Mass on Sunday?" I ask,
"It is." she answers.
I call the church, there is Mass at 8am, 930am and 1100am.
Now, this is not the first time she has told me something about her church that was not true. Now, you may think that this is just a mistake on her part. Except that we all know that they announce these things early and often in the church. Today I am going to tell her I will return the children at 10am on Sunday like I pick them up at 10am on Thanksgiving. This may seem petty on my part, but the hell and court proceedings that she puts me through makes this a dot on a page of a tome that she has written.
Same as everyone else. Just my nonsense.

First Real Blog

Why I am spending time doing this I do not know. I have work to do, school, family.... But so does everyone else. I am pissed and happy about so may things, there is a need to write them down.
I am happy because I have a nice life, loving wife, great family and a place to call home. My job is interesting though hectic and I think people respect me, or at least fear me for some strange reason. I have blogged with some really nice people on here and thought what the hell, maybe I should put my two cents in. They will not be as often an Chromed Curves or as funny as Deaths Door but who cares.
I am pissed because I have a psychotic ex. Sure some of you are thinking that maybe the psycho is me, but after you read some of the crazy stories you may change your mind.
The crazies are running the asylum and we keep voting them in. I pay taxes so some politician's kid, wife, brother, uncle, girlfriend...... can get overpaid to do NOTHING!!

Thanks BigDaddy2x4 for your help.
Same as everyone else.
